USB Executive Development presents career workshop for women.
As more and more women enter managerial and leadership positions, there is a growing need for them to become empowered and equipped in order to succeed in their new roles and careers.
For this purpose USB Executive Development (USB-ED), the public executive development and training company which forms part of the University of Stellenbosch Business School, will again present their Conscious Career Strategies for Women workshop at the USB campus in Bellville on 19 and 20 May 2009.
The aim of the workshop is for women to gain knowledge about these career options and become truly aware of the issues affecting her career. It will provide for an empowering and thought-provoking opportunity and is aimed at women in managerial, leadership and administrative positions, as well as those who are contemplating a future career change.
Working women should be conscious of the fact that at any stage of a person's career, there are at least ten career action steps to choose from. Through the workshop participants will gain self-insight, develop their social network further and gain knowledge of how to take their careers and organisations to the peak of its potential.
The workshop deals with matters such as career anchors, career paths and opportunity structures, how personal circumstances can altered or influenced a career path, competency profiling and personal skills analysis, the uniqueness of the female experience in the world of work, planning for the future, personal strategies for success, how to write a CV and personal marketing and branding.

Presenters will be Dr Sarah Riordan, a registered industrial psychologist, with more than 25 years of work experience in academia and human resource development, Wendy Anyster, an organisational psychologist and leadership development coach, trainer and facilitator and Sonja Swart, an expert in the fields of Change Management and Organisational Development Leadership; Emotional Intelligence; Coaching and Personal and Team Development.
