USB Executive Development (USB-ED), the private executive education company of Stellenbosch University, has spread its wings further in Africa by partnering with Endeavour Mining Corporation (EMC) in West Africa.
EMC is a premier intermediate gold producer focused on developing a portfolio of high quality mines in the prolific West African region.
After a successful pilot launch last year of USB-ED's comprehensive Management Development Programme (MDP) with 10 participants at EMC's Agbaou Mine in Côte D'Ivoire, the company has given USB-ED the green light to roll out the programmes further across the Endeavour Mining group.
Following this, the 2017 MDP was launched in May 2017 in Abidjan, Côte D'Ivoire with 25 participants from Ghana, Côte D'Ivoire, Mali and Burkina Faso covering five mining operations, as well as head office staff.
Louis Kruger, EMC Vice President, Human Resources, congratulated the 2017 MDP group of Endeavour Mining Corporation. "We have 25 delegates from all our mine-sites and have cut through all disciplines and departments - what an achievement.
"We truly can say that this is an integrated, high level and future feedstock group that can and will contribute and influence Endeavour Mining's performance to achieve the strategic drivers of the company as a whole.
"Endeavour Mining has chosen this programme to provide for a real opportunity to obtain management training and exposure, preparing you for future senior roles. This is a very prestigious qualification and is well recognised throughout the world.
"Furthermore, all candidates that successfully pass the programme are awarded with credits to complete a MBA qualification and automatically become alumni at the prestigious University of Stellenbosch Business School," Kruger said.
USB-ED General Manager for Rest of Africa, Jim Linskey, said as with the first group, the dominant language is French, so it's been a great learning curve for both the USB-ED team and Faculty. "EMC have already indicated further collaboration with USB-ED going forward as they continue to build their leadership capacity across the Group".
