Step up lets lead

On 25 November, 18 national finalists of the inaugural STEP UP LET’S LEAD 2013 National Youth Leader Awards were recognised.

During the year, underprivileged high school learners from Grades 9-11 were bussed to and from cinemas nationwide to watch the STEP UP LET’S LEAD film, which was aimed at introduce them to the fundamentals of leadership.

There was also a STEP UP LET’s LEAD competition where finalists demonstrated their leadership qualities and how they have implemented these qualities in their respective schools and/or communities. Pictured here are the 9 boys and 9 girls from around the country that have shown the strongest leadership skills.

USB-ED is sponsoring one winner (Zuzeka Goba) to participate in the 2014 Gap-year programme.
