This follows from USB Executive Development (USB-ED), the public executive development and training company of the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB), that will be presenting its Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) at the IDM Campus, Matsapha in Swaziland in three study schools.

The first SMDP study school will run van 31 August to 4 September 2015, the second from 5 to 9 October and the third from 9 to 13 November.

The programme forms part of USB-ED’s comprehensive programme offering. “It is designed to equip senior managers with the necessary business acumen, leadership and change management skills to function effectively within a strategic and high-ranking environment.

“The SMDP is specifically aimed at senior managers from any industry who focus more on operations than on strategy, and are eager to benchmark their abilities and further their potential,” according to Jim Linskey, USB-ED general manager Africa.

Participants will be equipped to apply entrepreneurial principles in a business context, analyse the financial health of an organisation and recommend ways of improving its financial viability and analyse and interpret the effect of economic drivers on industries and companies.

The will be supplemented by how to use the techniques provided by supply chain and project management theory to plan and execute projects and processes in your own organisation effectively and efficiently.

Also how to draw up an advanced marketing plan, incorporating all the facets of a sound and comprehensive marketing approach; manage, organise, motivate and build people into a great team through considering their personal management and leadership styles.

How to analyse an existing business and compile a comprehensive business plan integrating all the disciplines covered in the programme by applying your understanding of their interrelationship, build an invaluable network of managers who face the same challenges in the work environment and gain a greater awareness of your own abilities to think and act strategically in order to translate strategies into actions.
