Earn credits towards an international qualification

2012-05-23 00:00

USB-ED alumni who have completed the Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) have the opportunity to enrol for a BA(Hons) in Business Management from the University of Lincoln in the UK. The BA(Hons) Business Management degree is a work-based, distance learning degree and provides mature students with the chance to transfer their academic qualifications and work experience to achieve a degree in Business Management.
Willemien Law, head of Open Enrolment Programmes at USB-ED explains: “Delegates may use the skills and knowledge they acquired during the SMDP to obtain a recognised academic qualification from an international higher education institution through on-line learning.”
The qualification is aimed at individuals who are employed and wish to gain academic recognition for learning already achieved. It is an individual learning programme, focused on job-relevant learning, so it is imperative that candidates are employed. Law says the degree provides those without a tertiary qualification with an excellent opportunity to complete a relevant degree while continuing with their job.
USB-ED’s open enrolment Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) is recognised by the University of Lincoln for 240 credits. To obtain the BA(Hons) Business Management, interested individuals need to register with the University of Lincoln for the outstanding 120 credits (a total of 360 credits are required for the BA(Hons) degree).
